I was suggested keikoraca and gameness but they seem kinda pricy. Should I go with something like this or go cheaper? I checked out budovideos and jiu jitsu pro gear any other places maybe with a better deal?

    Suggestions much appreciated.

YOu know anyone with a Fuji because I been looking at those since they dont look to shabby and a much nicer price tag. Congrats on the Keikoraca though I was really close to getting one but I cant bring myself to do it as my first gi.

I have no complaints about it, its held up very well.

I bought a white one so that's why it was $50, if you want them to be colored they are a bit more but still very reasonable.

Don't buy a black gi as your first gi.

Fuji's are decent for first gis, as are Howard (HCK)s.

It's an etiquette thing at almost all BJJ places. White belts wearing black gis is pretty :ugh:, unless you are at a very "new school" place. If you take BJJ at an MMA gym, I bet it would be less of a problem.

Anything other than a white gi as a white belt is very very bad form. Make sure your gi is white!

That said, I have 2 koral MKM gis and I love them. They are expensive but last forever.

I treat it as a respect thing. My teacher prefers that white belts have a white gi. Once you reach blue you can wear a blue gi, and from purple and on you are afforded the luxury of a black gi. I still prefer white gis :o

i think its common in just about any sport that your performance and abilities should speak louder than your clothing or equipment.

Isn't the MKM the same as the classic but with more patches?

    Not hating, just curious.

I find the cut to be a little bit different with the MKM vs. Classic. I love my classic as well, I just prefer my MKMs.
