I've been around guns growing up but once I moved out of the nest, I never purchased my own. I want a compact .40 and have been scoping out Glock, HK, SIG, and the Magnum Research Baby Eagle. Any recommendations and/or good/bad experiences with any of these?

Never shot it but a lot of people like the Sig P229.

Yeah, I've been looking at the P229 and the new P250.

I didn't even think about that, good recommendation. I've got a lot of shopping and testing to do.

Yeah, with all of the reading up I have done on the military and law enforcement use of Sigs....I'm leaning that way.

Glock 23 (if you want compact)

I have a Glock 22 and I prefer the fullsize, to be honest.

    I'd get a G23, but I'm kind of a Glock whore.

Shoot both. The P229 is heavier and more expensive than the G23. Magazines cost more too.

I  my USP Compact in .40S&W....

You're going to get a bunch of different answers from WMD Crew here, you're best bet is to grope some guns at a store and try to get some rounds down range.

That's exactly what I'm going to be doing to make my final decision. I was just trying to get some recommendations and good/bad experiences from you guys.:bigthumb:

I have a nice list that I have to go check out in person now.
