Hey guys... I've never purchased a car online. How is it guaranteed to be safe? This one guy is selling a 04' 350z for 9k. I mean, that deal is too good to be true. One problem, the car is located in Athens, Greece. he says he'll ship it for free. I mean, it just sounds too good right. I checked the carfax report and everything is perfect. But how do you guarantee this kind of situation? He could've just given a random VIN number. Please let me know your take on this. thanks

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. This is one of the oldest internet car scams around.

use an escrow company DO NOT SEND 9K to Greece no matter how sweet the deal is. Use escrow to hold the money for both parties until the car arrives in stated condition.

If you just send him 9K, you can certainly kiss it goodbye.

cmon....its in GREECE. He needs to use an escrow company to protect his 9K.

Fuck I'd use one for any transaction outside my hometown.

there are major internet buying/selling scams going on right now all over the world. do some research on it, but a rule of thumb is that if anyone from a far away country wants to do business with you, DON'T.
