School has started back up again. We now have WiFi on campus, and I'd like to utilize that during my 8 hour days.

I currently have a Powermac G4 with a dual 1.3 ghz processor. I'm looking for something similar to this set up but in a notebook form. I use Pro tools and other editing programs on the G4, and I'll most likely NOT be using them on the new computer. Mostly just normal computer activities, and maybe a little photo editing.

I've been looking on Ebay for some used iBook g4's with a 1.4 ghz processor and around 1 gig of memory. What would be a good price for these? Would it be worth it to get the newer powerbook for a grand? I'm pretty strapped for money, but would find it worth it to get a laptop.

Powerbook is not worth it anymore since most new software coming out will probably be intel only.

sorry, macbook is what I meant.

It just seems like a bunch of money, but I guess it does seem like a better idea to get something new.

Especially because your powermac is becoming old, I mean i don't even think it can run iMovie '08 (think it needs a G5 min), i can't imagine how it'll be in a year or two.

You minus whale get a Macbook, if it seems like a lot of money either look into ebay or apple refurb, there are some amazing deals on there.
