On ar15.com, there's a guy who's selling new RRA AR-15s. From the posts, you can have them built to your specifications. As this is my first AR-15, anyone want to give me some advice on what to specify. I'd use this for midrange target practice as well as home defense if so necessary. Thanks for your insights!

I've been out to their machine shop for a Missouri Defensive Carbine meet. They've just added a huge addition onto their machine shop because they're getting bit and fast. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff too.

A friend of mine has one of their lowers and he loves it, his next purchase is one of their uppers. They make good stuff, check them out.

Anyone have Legal-Transfer's (AR15.com member) email address? I can't sign up for the site as I do not have a non-anonymous email that I can register with.

    www.ar15sales.com is the webpage.

Good prices, Pete has the worst communication skills known to man when you call and ask where your order is.

When you order and he tells you he might have in stock, and for 8 weeks you email or call 1 or 2 times a week he tells you "It should be any day now" it gets frustrating, the guy doesnt know whats going on. Especially when you give a guy on the internet $850.

but I saved about $100-$150 though :hs:

Thats wonderful. I placed an order with him last week. He told me he wouldnt get a new shipment in until Friday and it should ship out early next week. I hope it doesnt take too long. I want my AR dammit.

I just ordered 2 RRA LPKs.

He is fast at shipping his parts besides uppers from what I hear. Although I ordered my RRA 16" A4 upper from him and it was hear within the next week. He was hard to get ahold of when I called him but he called me back a couple hours later. He was ever working late hours because he is busy as he called me around 6 or 7pm Pacific and he is east coast.

When buying an upper from him tell him you are from arfcom and want the lowest price and he will even get you a price lower than advertised on his website. Basically he will pay for shipping. I bought my upper for $434 shipped with chromelining.

He told me up front that there was about an 8 week wait, and that's just what it was... 8 weeks. But I will add that it was well worth the wait. Place your order, and wait, then Pete will call you when it arrives. Just be patient, it will be worth it.

I guess I just bought one at the perfect time. When I emailed him he said he had a few in stock. I told him to send me one and it was here the next week. This was just a month or two ago.

So...what parts should I ask for when having this rifle built if I'm going to use it at the range and if zombies attack?

Any recommendations on optics? Any optics versatile enough to be used for midrange target practice as well as CQB...for when zombies attack?
