I'm buying a new laptop and need help. the laptop is going to serve as my everyday computer (gaming, internet, school stuff) as well as work (if i can do the everyday stuff, then work will be easily accomplished with this). Now - i have a few questions. i'm on a budget - no more than 1750. do i get a single processor that is HTed or do i get the duo processors? AMD or intel? seriously, which is better - and why. next...i built myself a few alienwares on a decent budget. then i built some matching gateway laptops. i hate dell, so that's not an option unless you really persuade me. i think they put a load of sh*t in their computers. i'm open to all suggestions. i appreciate the help. system specs for the ones that i built are listed:

Do i sring on the graphics and get the 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7600 [+$200 or $6/mo.]??? Is it much better than the 128MB ATI Mobility™ Radeon® X1400???

Just point out what you like and dislike. I'm leaning to Gateway #3, as it is fairly cheap, and it's close to the Alienware #2 that is more expensive. I tried to build similar systems for all. Thanks again.

*note* didn't know where to post this - admins can move it if you need to. sorry if it's a problem.

I would personally stay away from the gateways I have had issues out the ass with them. Just a thought when buying.
