Alright, my iBook's ACPP just ended, and the power port broke.

So, I'm going to buy a new mac mini instead of paying 400 to get a repair.

I need to know if it's worth waiting. I wont have a computer in my room, and will have to use the shitty Dell from 97 to do everything.

I've heard rumors of them adding front row and the remote to the Mac mini, but I will most likely be able to "acquire" or purchase those, right?

Also, i'd be buying a refurbished mac mini most likely. looking at a 1.42GHz with 512MB of ram, 80gig HD, airport and bluetooth, combo drive, for 519. My dad gets deals through work, but he gets 10% off and I think that refurbished is a better deal.

Then I'd get a 150-200 dollar LCD, and then a mac keyboard and use my current optical mouse and speakers.

yeah, I thought that Macworld was end of Jan trickeling into Feb (lol, trickle).

I can wait a few days, i doubt i'll be ordering it untill after that.

Do u think the prices will be the same? Just checked, and a new one with my dad's discount is like 560ish (for the 1.42 without a superdrive) so I'm hoping the pricing will be the same...

U think they will be putting intel chips into these? and they are changing it to 1.5GHz and 1.3, right? and theres the front row possibility.

No harm in waiting a few days, is there?

Hopefully new ones get announced in a few days and we'll be able to buy them this month.. cause I've been waiting 4+ months to get a mini. :wiggle:

Most likely they'll have the new Intel Yonah chips in them. The clock speeds won't be 1.33 and 1.5 like the current minis with 'hidden upgrades', but something more like this:

being an apple rep, and going to macworld i would advise you too wait.
while i don't know if anything is coming out (they don't tell us shit)
the post macworld minimacs may be better (or current models cheaper)
    and may include new software...
(like say the iLife 06 leak that's been floating around?)

I wouldn't expect dual core processors in the Mini. Knowing Apple they'll probably stick the slowest of the slow in there (1.5ghz?), but even that will rip a G4 apart.
