I want to make a target 22 and love me current 22/45. The one I have is a MK3 blued with a slabside 4.5" barrel and fixed sights. It shoots straight and accurate but I want to put a red dot scope on it. My current one lacks holes to put a rail on so I am wondering if just buying a new one with a longer fluted barrel would be more ideal. Any suggestions?

I put SoLow rings on mine, works pretty good but probably not what you're looking for.

It works well and looks good. The zero is off right now, but that could either be the cheapo Bushnell scope or I may have banged it around a little.

It's proving to be difficult to find a holster for it in this configuration, though. I may have to get some leather and try my hand at making one myself. Would have come in handy on my last hog hunt.

why not have a smith drill and tap for a real rail. Then it might actually hold zero and you could like shoot really small groups or call shots
