Shit I've been out of the fucking loop for way to god damn long. I've built several computers in the past but can't seem to completely understand somethings. Even though I've been doing this for a while sometimes RAM confuses me. The new board I'm picking out can go ddr2 1066 or ddr3 1333. Does that mean I can buy say ddr2 800? Which am I better getting? ddr2 or ddr3? Fuck when I built my system a few years ago they only had ddr

Sir I recommend you please read. I just informed you that I switched sites to TigerDirect. Which in turn means that I have closed out the Newegg site and reopened Internet Explorer and or Firefox and inserted the link www.tigerdirect.com.

ddr3 is shitty. So if that was the only reason you wanted that board, dont.

gigabyte is nothing special. I like the rock-solid performance that intel boards provide. intel built the chip and chipset. sure as shit they know how to make the board. gigabyte doesn't bring anything new to the table, yet has a worse track record in stability.

the only non-intel board I could see myself buying would be an abit... and they can be a nightmere to get running properly. but when it comes to overclocking/control/performance they are the ultimate. But you pay the price for that control by giving up some stability.

Okay, well, I won't be overclocking. First off, I have noooo idea how to do that, but I do know you can fuck shit up ( I think ). Not something I want to mess with. The Newegg p35 board I like ( I guess ) I just assumed having ddr2 at 1033 was better than have ddr2 800. Regardless I am going to max out the memory anyways. So the Newegg board takes up to 8 gig, so that's what I'm installing. :)
    Edit:
Shit after further research XP only supports to 4 gigs. So that is what I shall buy!

very shitty. very very very shitty.

do not go higher than 4-4-4.

Don't bother with memory faster than your chips fsb. buy what i suggested.
