Enjoying a nice 3 day weekend so rode the motorcycle to my local gun store to look at things I can't afford. Well right now I am wanting to pick up a Colt LE6920 and a XDm 3.8.

Well I saw that they had some Bushmaster MOE M4's in. They had them priced at $999 which I am assuming is pretty good. How are these in general? Anyone here own one? Quality?

If I picked up a 6920 I would get a new buttstock with a wider cheek weld along with a EOTech and forgrip with light. The magpul sight on the Bushmaster is nice but the rest I think I would end up replacing.

    So guess the question is.....

Is it better to buy the Bushmaster for 1K and change out what I need down the road or buy the Colt for 1.3K and set it up the way I want.

The MOE stuff is nice, especially the handguards. They are very comfortable, and you can add a rail for a light, and don't add a ton of weight to the front of the gun like some others. The grip is good, not as good as a hogue, but definitely an improvement.

I have not had a problem with the bushmasters I have handled. And I've seen a lot of them.

Comparing a colt 6920 to a bushmaster is like comparing chocolate to shit.

Colt will grant you sackriders on the internet, Bushmaster is going to shoot the same ammo in roughly the same manner for ~500$ less. No offense but I'd be more than willing to wager either rifle is going to be more mechanically accurate than you'll be able to physically utilize, so go with whatever you'd rather spend money on.

How so? Quality? Fit and finish?

I've only shot Colts so don't have any experience with other brands.
