I am asking this for a friend as I never have used itunes, etc.

Is there a program out theree that someone can recommend to burn itune files (or convert them and then burn) to cdr?

yeah, it's called iTunes. You can make music CD's and backup your music on data CD's

Really? He generally uses Nero to burn all of his regular .mp3's etc. to CDR. I have never seen or used itunes. He said he tried to drag the itune file or whatever into nero and it gave an error.
He knows nothing about pc's, etc. Where is the option in itunes so I can try and help him out?
And what exactly are itunes files? They aren't .mp3's right?

    mp3, ac3, and many more...
If they are songs he bought on iTunes, they are ac3, and protected, otherwise you can convert them to MP3's with a right click.

I use a Mac, so I just checked it on a windoze box and it will burn audio and data CD's. Try using the application's help, it tells all about it

There is a button in the top right corner of the iTunes program that will burn the currently-selected Playlist to a CD. The CD that iTunes creates is an Audio CD, playable in any CD player that can read a CD-R.

All modern CD players can read CD-Rs, for the record.

Thanks aphonic. I think the files are straight from itunes. So those are protected?
If so, is there any software that will convert them to regular mp3's?
