Ok, so i've got 4 .dmg files that i need to burn to disks (all are for the same program) So, i burned them all to CDs, using Disk Copy. But, if i tried to use them, i'd get an error, it would freeze halfway through the install.

I am so lost. Pretty much, waht do i use to burn data disks (i'll just say it, they are the CD versions of Mac Tiger. I dont know if i can post this, if its against OT's rules, sorry fazzle, and someone close this thread). When i'm installing the program (like, i restart with CD one in, and it says like checking hard drive or something at the start of the install, freezes for 20 minutes, then starts up with my current OS).

Yeah yeah, i know, just buy it. Send me 130, and i will. I've got too much to worry about, my parents wont let me buy it, wouldnt let me get a job over the sumer (NO JOKE, i'm not even kidding, my dad is...weird). Sooner or later, i will buy it, for sure. But, I just need it right now for a few programs.

    Thanks a ton.

well, i tried it with disk copy, and i was getting that error when it started the install.
Also, i've heard other people have had the same problems as me, when using disk copy.

are you running 10.3 right now?

The only thing I can think of that you would need tiger for is java 1.5

    no, i'm on 10.2.8

But, i dont think theres something wrong with my current software. I think i just need to use a special burning program, or set the settings to something.

why aren't you using disk utility to burn the dmg's? that's what the utility is for. open the disk utility, drag the dmg into the window if you don't want to browse for it, and burn it. there's nothing more to it.

it doesnt let me. its like i cant. Its weird. I'll try again in a few minutes, but it wasnt letting me drag the .dmg files to disk utility. I want to use disk utility.

Where is the burn option? I didnt see it anywhere on the toolbar, do i need to have a blank CD inserted or soemthing?

I hate to bump semi-old threads, but i'm still having problems, and didnt want to make a new thread...

Ok, so, i've got the blank Cd mounted on my desktop, and its showing up in Disk Utility. i just called apple, and the guy basically told me to just drag the files to the CD, but that uses disk copy, which i cant use. i MUST use Disk Utility.

I took a few screen shots, of the Disk utility window, and the CD in it. No where do I see a burn tab, and if i try and manually drag the .dmg files that i need to burn, it doesnt go, and just like does the thing where it retracts to its currnt folder.

    DAMN IMAGESHACK

I've got Mac OS 10.2.8, and the version of Disk Utility I'm running is 10.3
I was just looking somewhere, and it says that i can only burn disks using Disk Utitiliy if i'm on Mac OS 10.3 Panther. is this true????
