Barbed wire is a bit extreme in a residential neighborhood.

I don't have a problem with it, but I can see why they told her not to do that.

It still astonishes me every time someone from there says OUR country sucks

I don't see a problem with it... It's pretty hard to hurt yourself on a fence with barbed wire on the top... unless you're trying to climb over the fence

I've seen people with razor wire up in residential areas.

:werd: But nobody takes responsibility for their own actions anymore.

Doesn't mean some shitbag won't sue you if he gets hurt on it.

Married couple forced to house criminal
    Tuesday, December 18, 2007
    http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=80590&in_page_id=34
A convicted criminal has moved in with a married couple against their wishes after giving their address in court as his home. ......
    ...........
He allegedly told Mrs Cole: 'I'm staying here until the tag's off. There's f**k all you can do about it. The courts have told me to.'

The court said it was looking into the situation but police said they could not act without a court warrant.

England started the ball rolling on individual rights with the Magna Carta and then just fell off the wagon.

You'll find if you ever go to England that the only people that still have a set downstairs are the older generations.

Though the military people still know how to take care of business as well, the cops are all pansies though.

you every been to the UK? Barbed wire is the least of your worries, cinder block walls are topped with shards of glass embedded in concrete, topped with nasty iron spikes or there are even some things on a rod that roll that have blade like spikes at 90 degree intervals. :noes:

Yea, every time I read a Jeremy Clarkson opinion piece it boggles my mind. This is a guy that claims to absolutely hate us. Aside from the obesity claims -- which, lets be honest, are somewhat true -- he always wants to poke fun at the lobotomized clerk. Most of his complaints centre around low-paid employees enforcing rediculous regulations.

Sorry old chap, but your country is the same way! At least when I shoot the burglar that is in my home and threatening my life I might have a *chance* that the officers that arrive don't take me into custody and a *chance* that the district attorney doesn't press charges. Now don't get me wrong, there's a good chance that I do get arrested and charged -- but the coin-flip has a good-ending alternative, as well. Do the same in Britian and do not pass go, do not collect $200, go directly to jail!

    Ignorance is not bliss.

i have to point out that cops are not lawyers and are not equipped to give sound legal advice

    case that happened to me

when i was 15 i was shooting a bb gun in my friends back yard. cops came told us it was ok with land owner permission

next day they come back and take the bb gun (firends dad gets it out of impound later) and the cop tells me that the other cop was wrong.

we were living inside the city limits mind you
