It looks like the only Mil Spec 1159F is companys making barrels, since according to Mil Spec B 11595E every barrel under 2" width would have the same chrome lining (this would include M249's)

    • Companies are claiming they are making barrels to Mil Spec - B 1159F
    • Try to look up Mil Spec B 1159F
    • Mil Spec B 1159F doesnt exist on any website that lists Mil Specs
    • MilSpec 11595E does exist and claims the same amount of Chrome moly for Barrels under 2" in diameter which would be both M16, and M249
    • Idiots fall for companies bullshit marketing

    What?

  3. After reading it like 6 times I think he's saying that you can find lots of companies talking about M249 chrome lining, but he is unable to find any specification for it on any of the search engines where he should be able to find information on mil specifications.

    ?

I think people just see what Colt parts are made of (since it is mil-spec) then replicate it since they are one of the few companies with access to the TDP.

    http://www.defensereview.com/novesk...ecce-carbine-john-noveske-interview-part-one/

Crane: Are you the only guy that’s double-chrome-lining ‘em?

Noveske: That’s not the right [terminology]. "Double-chrome-lining" implies that I’m chroming twice. I’m chroming once to the technical data package requirements for the M249 machine gun [FN M249 Squad Automatic Weapon a.k.a. FN M249 SAW], which call out for a chrome thickness that is approximately twice the thickness of an M16 or an M4.

Saw barrels are only rated to 15k rounds :ugh2:

  23. Since you're just assuming they did improve it, where did your 40,000 round figure come from?
