Bullet Holes Found In 2 Planes At Airport
Pilots Advised To Make Steep Approach Into Tamiami Airport

    POSTED: 5:30 pm EDT May 15, 2008
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. -- The FBI is investigating after bullet holes were found in two small-engine planes at Tamiami Airport in Kendall.

Officials aren't sure where the bullet holes came from, but they aren't taking any chances.

Recently, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a notice to airmen at Tamiami Airport.

Pilots are being advised to take the runways by making a steep approach. It's an effort that will hopefully keep the planes out of target, officials said.

Robert Dean, pilot and owner of Dean International Flight School, is concerned a bullet could hit his plane, or even a student.

"It could kill," Dean said. "That's super dangerous, so somebody who is doing something like that really needs to think about it."

    No arrests have been made.

Well we know they weren't .50's because the planes weren't blown out of the sky or clear off the airstrip.

overshoot seems more likely than aimed fire, but who knows?

Had to have been a .50BMG. They can shoot down the shuttle with a well-trained COD4 operator.

10mm would've caused explosive decompression and sucked them out to their doom. Even at standard pressures.

the planes were still identifiable and there was no blast crater, so it wasn't a 10mm.

The Miccosukee indians live down around the Tamiami trail, maybe they shot it.

The MAF - Mobility Air Force.
As apposed to the CAF - Combat Air Force.

ACC & sometimes AFSOC = CAF
AMC & sometimes AFSOC = MAF
