BULKING question...# of meals a day???

    I have decided to start bulking. My metabolism is insanely high so I could have lard intravenously injected into my veins 24/7 and I still wouldnt gain weight. Anyway, For the past few days I have been eating all day long, just constantly eating, sandwhiches, salads, pastas, tuna sammiches, burgers, chicken strips, wraps, anything.

    I have heard that constantly eating like this speeds up your metabolism so is this a bad move for me?

    Would it be better to have a set number of big meals a day and stuff myself then or is it ok to just eat all day long?

    Has anyone else faced this problem? :hs: :hs:

    I've got an insanely fast metabolism, too, and just about the same eating habits. I'm not sure what can overcome it, but for the most part it's genetic--my dad eats like a fiend, and he still weighs about 140lbs.

    I've been doing what I can to bulk up, too, so I tend to sleep after eating. I'm not sure how good or bad it is, but I'm sure it should end up building up one of these days. :hs:

    effect on your metabolism is negligible, don't worry about little things like this.

    yea its a mixed blessing though. Glad I most likely will never be a lard ass without any effort, on the other hand, its so much harder to get bigger.

    Nice, I will try this. I was just thinking I should log everything that I eat.


    Today I had:

    bowl of corn flakes with strawberries mixed in.

    spicy mchicken sandwhich

    5 piece chicken tenders

    apple/walnut fruit salad

    odwalla protein bar

    two tuna salad sandwiches

    whne I get home, steak tips + mashed potatoes + spinach

    bowl of icecream + protein shake

    if that's the whole day, then it's absolutely terrible, but this is what always happens when someone says that they are "eating so much, but can't gain any weight". at least now you know, and can work to improve on it.

    try doubling that amount of calories. increase protein as well.

    i'd say you're eating more around maintenance level then bulking level.

    JUST A GUIDELINE

    bw x 11-12 for weightloss
    bw x 14-16 to maintain
    bw x 18-20+ to gain

    this is going to vary greatly based on your metabolism and your activity level, so these #'s are only good for a starting point.

    Try for 4,000 Calories/ day and see how you do. I'll tell you, I have a slow metabolism and gain muscle easily, but I'd be staying skinny at 1700 calories a day too.

    this thread should be saved, so that next week, when the next guy comes in here talking about how much he's eating, etc... and still not gaining weight, he can just be pointed here to see that the massive amount of food he's eating is actually a maintenance diet for your average girl.

    fuck you guys with big ass stomachs, eating food when not hungry is not freaking fun.
