this goes to ceaze especially, i remember you posting an article that said that the lower ur bf is when you start bulking, the more of that bulk will be muscle than fat... is there any credibility to this?

this is basicalyl the only reason im cutting down to 145-150 or so before i do a clean bulk...

I wouldnt worry about it, its theoretically correct, but in practice I wouldn't expect any noticable difference.

eating over maintence cleanly, with your goal being to put on as much LBM without gaining too much fat in the process.

calories only slightly above maintenance, good calories such as fish oils, flax, wheat and other low gi carbs, protein.

unlike my last bulk where i lived at wendys
    haha

    that dollar menu is great

So do you just limit bad fats and bad carbs, replace with good fats and good carbs? When you say only slightly over, what happens if you clean bulk significantly over maintenance?

Depends on what body type you want, really bulky or lean and cut

So far in the past 3wks i've cut from 182lbs to 167lbs and kept the same bicep measurements. When I get down to 160lbs i'll get back on protein shakes and keep watching my diet like I do now.

dont quote me here, but if you bulk significantly over maintenance, regardless of the composition of the calories, whatever the body can't use will be turned into fat...

a good rule of thumb when bulking is... if you're gaining any more than 1 lb a week, theres probably a good deal of fat there.

and when you're cutting, any loss in weight > than 2 lbs a week means reduction in muscle.

I believe this is more for people who are naturally lean.
