thats the list of what i've got picked out. its either from newegg.com or crucial.com

any tips/suggestions of what i've FINALLY chosen, and for putting it together? i've never built one from scratch, so the CPU mounting with thermal grease is what scares me the most :o

    get a better power suppoly

420w+ espeically with the amount of optical drive you'de be running, and because the 9700 pro will need a power supply cable for itself!!!! best to get more watts so youdon't kill a $350 video card, or a HD

looks good to me, that power supply should be able to handle that setup. you may want something bigger if you plan to add anything else to the system (more hard drives, raid controller, etc)

That antec 400 should be fine. Just monitor the system once you first get it together just to be 100% certain

one of my friends has about the same setup
burner,dvd,2 maxtor 80gigs 2 dimms and p4 1.8 and ti4600 and he uses an antec350, works fine for him.

You going with the regular ribbon cables? I got a similiar blue Chieftec case and got some round cables to go with it. Cost me like 30 for a full set and looks nicer then the ribbon stuff.

    Something to think about....
