Building my first computer vs.OhNoes

    When I built mine, I bought everything over the course of like two months. I ordered my mobo/processor and ram from Tigerdirect because they were the only ones that carried it. Look on like pricewatch and see what you can find as far as pricing goes.

    Also, I re-used the floppy drive and hard drives from my old computer. If you have your heart set on using the floppy drive/card reader, buy that, otherwise you can buy a seperate card reader. Just make sure your motherboard has enough usb headers. I dont have the audio jacks or usb ports on the side of my case hooked up because my mother board didn't have connections available for them after I used the card reader/usb port that came bundled with it.

    TigerDirect is fine, they just don't have as friendly a storefront as Newegg.

    If you're going to buy over time, buy the CPU and motherboard last, because those are the parts that will be obsolete the soonest.
