The E8500 is $100 less at newegg, and a fair amount on the ram too. I'm sure you can save some on the other parts as well.

. prices sound high on several things.

    Personally, I would go change:
    - PSU to a Corsair 620HX (PC Power & Cooling and SeaSonic are also good)
    - Hard drive to the Seagate 7200.11 model
    - Motherboard to an Intel P45 or X48 based Gigabyte, Intel, or Abit (unless you plan on going SLI)
    - Big fan of eVGA for graphics card, but thats preference
    - You don't need the SATA cable kit
    - You don't need the Tool Kit (assuming you have a philips head screw driver)

    .

Last time I needed an extra SATA cable (and molex to SATA power adapter) I went to a small local pc place and they gave them to me free.

    ugly case
    good mobo
    ipod :greddy:
    good psu
cpu & ram, I'd get it elsewhere or consider this combo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3970768&CatId=3412
    * note that cpu doesn't come with a cooler though. stock cooler sucks anyway, get an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro.
    consider a Radeon 4850
    Lite-on is fine
I'd get a Logitech keyboard and mouse
    Vista 64 ftw
    hdd is fine
check your local hardware store for tool kits. you can probably get a good one around $20
