What does OT think?
do you really need wifi built-in? (could save $40 easy)
also, given the price vs. performance of the Core2Duo's they are the much better buy right now (unless you really want the free game )
Also, if you plan to run Vista, get 4GB RAM
go for antec p182, it looks the same and costs the same but I think there is a slight revision and the paint is better.
I wanted the p180 too and compusa has it onsale for $69 with free ship but its sold out online, they have the silver case for $79 still I think.
ClubIT has the OCZ OCZ2P800R22GK Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-15 Dual Channel Retail Kit for $121.99 - $20 off with code EBL08104308301 - $40MIR = $61.99. Shipping is free.
compusa also have Antec TruePower Quattro 850W Power Supply for $130 with free shipping using code ONCAMPUS. Lowest on PriceGrabber is $161. Choose in-store pickup as it's sold out for delivery.
You need to start checking www.slickdeals.net or www.techbargins.com
so a shitty case and shitty psu? for shame.
maybe if it was a year ago then you'd be making a good choice with AMD, but now you're a fool to not go with a Core 2 Duo.
Asus boards are good IMO, just switch to something like the P5K for the intel cpu and an E6750.
That is one of the best cases you can buy right now.
It may not be flashy, but if you want that with a window and all, get the 900. Another one of the best.
it is fucking a plastic flimsy piece of shit. You open the door and it wobbles like a 1980's Chevy.
no, the cases you mentioned are for budget builds.
those antecs are pieces of shit compared to a lian-li or silverstone cases.
p180 and 900 got 9/10 in the mags i read and editor's choices on other sites.
Yeah, but you're up against Darth Vader levels of Antec hate in here.
@ people sweating a case, and not really worrying about the insides
for buy the Power pc and cooling silencer 750 from ZZF and the P182 case from them
website is under construction right now but yeah..
no silverstone tj09 no care
Well i love that case two of my friends have it so i have seen it close up lots of times.
I thought that was one of the best power supplies out am I wrong?
as far as intel over amd i know intel is better but it is a jump in price is it worth it will i really notice?
I've got an antec nine hundred and it's a great case. Tons of airflow, 120mm fans built into the front right in front of your drives, thumbscrews for the doors and drive cages, plus front usb, firewire and audio. If I was getting a new case, that one would definately be on my list.
As for switching from AMD to Intel, yes, it's very noticible.
why does the E6750 cost less than the E6600 isnt the 6750 better?
And i know im a complete n00b but could yall please explain to me why intel is better than amd?
is that 65nm as opposed to 90nm what makes the difference
or is it the more L2 cahe?
casue i always thought it was ghz that was what determined speed and intel is lower in that category
sorry for my stupidity
smaller die size means less heat, less power consumption, more L2 cache and the benchmarks for real world use show the Intel performs beyond what the AMD can.
Yes, the E6750 is faster and a better cpu, not sure why the suppliers still haven't dropped their prices on the E6600.
because they are not going to sell the 6600s for less than they paid for them, they paid less for the 6750 so they can sell them for less
go make a bunch of new newegg accounts, cause they are running a paypal deal. $20 off 100, but its one time use code per newegg account. If you are buying alot though you might get hammered on shipping for each item, so take that into account.
