no semprons sucks. there like intels celerons. go for the 3000+ or the 3200+ venice cores. and as far a s a mobard go for a Nforce 3 or 4 board. also go nvidia 6600gt or higher on graphics. please dont go ati, you will have nothing besides frustrations. ill admit you will get nice grapics in hl2, but thats about it.ram go pc3200 and a gig is fine. also how much you spending? i built mine for 750. i got a amd 3200+ venice core and its overclocked to a 2.7, faster then a fx55. but thats my advice. i aso have a 6600gt from msi, nvidia, and its amazing. damn good card

that board and the previous one you posted are 2 different sockets. s939 has dual channel and is more future proof. s754 doesn't have dual channel but was regarded as a better dollar/performance ratio (assuming you intend to OC) but that title is fading with the decrease in cost for decent s939 motherboards.

and venice cores are the newer (single) cores (aka rev. E) for A64 (as is the San Diego). "older" (single) cores consist of Newcastle, Clawhammer and Winchester (aka rev. D and AMD's 1st 90nm chip)for the desktop.

edit: All the names I mentioned are codenames for each different core and are known as that in Canada as well as everywhere else.

are you going to do some heavy multi-tasking? if you're not, then an A64 3000 or 3200 will do just fine.

I am going to check that site thanks... The place I am thinking at getting it at is this place it is local. http://www.cbit.ca/mb/index.asp I know the website is pretty weak.
I will look into the place suggested thanks.

HP, because eMachines are built by some OTer in his basement & sold at HP prices (not to say that HP is very good, just the lesser of two evils).

Jay - the eMachines I guess would be your choice.
I am going to see what they can do for me at the local store mentioned.

    I wouldn't choose either :o
    I don't really like pre-built computers :hs:

but if I HAD to choose, I'd go with the one with a better package deal :dunno:
