Hay guys, we never talk about ar's on here so I thought it was time we did. I just built my own upper for the first time and it was really easy. If you have a bench vice and don't mind spending a few bucks on tools you can build your own from parts too, past that the only special tool you need that you probably don't already have is an armorers wrench which is about $20. Here's what I made this time. Its a stag lower with a stag lpk and a magpul ubr stock, cmt upper with a midlength 16" cmmg lightweight profile barrel, and a lmt bcg, heavy buffer and chrome silicon buffer and extractor spring, phantom hider, badger latch, troy buis. The trigger I sent out to bill springfield to be worked on and wow did he do a nice job. Hopefully the weather will clear up in the next week or so and I'll get to take it to the range. The final weight without a magazine is 7 pounds, 3 ounces and I really like the balance and feel of it. The original plan for this one was a 13.4" larue rail system and a fixed front sight mounted to the rail but I don't think I can bring myself to put that much weight on the front of it now.
