    Crazy isn't it?

Buick is at a premium name in China, similar to what the brand enjoyed here during it's heyday. GM is keen to keep it that way.

GM scrapped everything about the Regal's interior for China and made it premium fare, the only part that carried over was the steering wheel. It's going to be replaced with a similarly redone version of the LaCrosse. It makes me wonder why they don't offer the same high quality car everywhere.

I am going to figure that Buick's name here in the states isn't as popular as maybe in China. So now if they were to go produce those same cars here in america, I would assume the cost of the cars would go up due to the upgraded interior, etc.

I could be mistaken, but they don't seem to be selling like hotcakes here so raising the price probably won't help. Buick screams grandpa car to me (well...minus the GN), but maybe in China buick is equivilant to maybe lexus.

Pretty much. The only costly stuff in the interior is the nav and screens, otherwise it could be the same here with no price hike.

Has Buick surpassed VW as the most popular auto brand in China?

GM did do a great Job with Buick in China.. It is even more upscale than the Cadillacs..

I read that GM might build more upscale versions of Cadillac for China..
