Started getting this at first once per day. After a week or so I began getting random reboots (no blue screen, just a reboot). The most recent hardware/software added was logitech MX revolution bluetooth mouse with newest logitech drivers and a usb 4 port hub. I uninstalled all of that but still got random reboots.
Fresh format of XP pro w/sp2 and all updates. Ran for about a day and got another Bugcode_usb_driver errow. Nothing in the event view either which I thought was odd.
Google tells me it is more likely a device than a driver. Currently I have unplugged all usb devices (hubs/keyboard/mouse). Only thing is actual usb ports on motherboard.
I still wanted to update my USB drivers. All of them are from 2001/2002. Windows update says those are the only/newest ones available. It is usb 2.0 btw.

I also ran memtest all night long w/no errors because at least one google link mentioned that.

    Any ideas?

As a long shot, maybe clear your cmos.

Are you by chance overclocking the pc?

no overclocking. I did clear the cmos a few weeks back when I updated my BIOS. Guess I could try again if no other ideas. i just hate to because i always have to remove a stick of RAM, then change voltages, then put second stick back in. I really liked this 680i when I first had it but I'm wondering if it is the cause of some of the issues I've had.

Well, it's not so likely that it's the cmos.

But I have been reading a lot of negative comments on the 680i boards.

How close did the usb problem start after you updated the bios?

Also, have you looked in your device manager for yellow question marks?

It's funny you mention the BIOS. I thought about that right after i posted. Looking at evga's site the only updates are the following:
    Improves S3 resume functionality
    USB flash key functionality improvements
    Overclocking and memory improvements
    WHQL-related HPET fixes
    CPU micro-code update

So nothing USB related except the flash key thing. That might be where the problem lies. I just hate reflashing.

    But i might have to.

Oh, and eveything in Devie manager is OK.

What about that setting in bios for enabling legacy usb devices.

I used to have a belkin keyboard that wouldn't work without that enabled.

I'll go into the bios and check. that sounds familiar.

Guess it was on my last motherboard where I saw that setting. Still may revert back to last BIOS but if anyone else has anything to add please let me know.

Try uninstalling the usb drivers and rebooting and if windows doesn't reinstall them automatically,
put your mobo driver disc in and redo them.
