Bug stains wont go away even after clay bar?

    Have you tried some polish yet? That usually works, but if the bugs have actually etched into the paint, then you are SOL.

    how long does it take them to etch?

    And theres completely nothing to do? thanks!

    how about wet sanding the area lightly?

    useing about 2000 grit.... once done, then polish the hell out of the area...

    Whatcha think scott?

    If you've never wetsanded before I don't think learning on your own car is a good idea.

    1200mk-it depends on the bug and how much bug guts stick to the paint. As long as you get them off within a few days, you are usually alright. Whenever I take a trip, I clean the front end of my car when I get where I am going.

    If the bugs have actually etched the paint, polishing may make it less noticable, but if it has gone through the clear coat or distorted the paint, you can't make it perfect.
