so i recently bouhgt a used 1994 formula six speed, so far i LOVE THIS FREAKING CAR!!!!

    but...(there's always a but:mad: )
when i give it some gas and the rpm's aren;t up around like 2000-2500 and the car is in a highish gear, the hole car kinda bucks around a bit, like the axel is trying to put all the power down but something is slipping and catching all at once:confused:
mostly a problem when passing on the highway

now no mustang i have ever driven has ever done this (nor any other car for that matter), so i am wondering: is this normal and to be expected from F-Bods?

or is my car just fucked up:(

    THANKS!!

in my experience a car bogs at like under 1000 rpms, not 1500 to 2000, unless this is a GM/Fbod/T56 thing....

which is essentially what i am asking, does anyone else's car dp this?

DING DING DING!! WE more than likely have a winner with this one. Pre '95 optispark distributers are notoriously cranky. Take a look under the car in the dark and see if your optispark is leaking (arching) and thats a pretty good sign of a failing optispark. Not to worry though, they have dropped alot in price, and are not too hard to instal. Also replace the fuel filter, and spark plugs if you haven't already.

Sarah's car is doing the EXACT same thing and we are trying to track down the problem... It's a 94 6-speed Z28, also an LT1 (of course)... We are doing plugs/wires soon, then if that does fix it I will be putting in an optispark... If you find a fix, please let me know...

BTW, hers has progressed to doing it under 2k, and in all gears. Not all the time by any means, but under 2K and in all gears when it does...

HPS.....really, before you go spending money on an opti that you might not need, hook it up to a scanner and make sure that all of your O2 sensors are good.

Mine did the exact same thing and I did the same thing you did (minus the opti) and found out it was the O2.

At idle your O2 sensors voltage will fluctuate. If you have a bad one, it will either read a constant voltage or the fluctuations will be minimal.

If you have a low RPM studder that goes away at WOT, I can pretty much guarantee that's what it is. (O2's are not used >80% throttle, therefore they won't be reading and dumping a shitload of fuel in the faulty bank).

Hi this is Ants girlfriend *snuck on his name* lol

Anyways.. I have a 1993 Formula.. I had the same problems i changed the fuel filter and it was good for a while.. then i started getting the problem again and my wires were touching the pulley's and i had to have them replaced. All was good but then startred again.. Its was my opti which i was going to have replaced until the accident 3 weeks ago.

but try the Fuel Filter and plugs and wires first before doing your opti.
