I am asking here as a favor for my brother. I do not have the gun in front of me.

He says the slide is very hard to pull back. It was not like this when purchased but has developed after approx 400 rounds of use. He has tore the gun down and given it a complete cleaning.

The slide works freely if the gun is "cocked".

The gun has no trouble cycling rounds while shooting.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have already given him the number to Browning and told him to call them and they would most likely take care of it.

That is normal, the resaon why is you have to push the hammer down when it's not already cocked.

Both of my dad's feel the same way. Without feeling it myself I'd say it's normal too.
