I don't understand, why would anyone want a 20 rounder?

Shorter. I like to load them with TAP since a box is 20rds.

20rds per box and magazine soothes my OCD. Plus they're better for shooting from a bench.

In my opinion, 20>30 since you can go in all shooting positions with the 20rnd mag.

 why would you limit your defensive mags to 20 rounds vs. 30

smaller mags are ftw when yout ake other people shooting, so they don't blow through a 30 round mag @ $0.50 a piece

You know you don't have to load 30 rounds in your mags in 30 rounders, 20 will fit as well.

I have a 20 in my "HD" AR and 30s in my bail out bag. The 20 is shorter so it will snag on less stuff, can you go into varying/lower positions, etc. If I get to the point where I have already expended my 20 rounds I will either transition to secondary weapon or reload from the bail out bag with the 30 rounders.

What shooting potions can you not do with a 30? Not like any branches of the military qualify in prone with a 30rd magazine

    uphill with a bipod

If you shoot more than 20 rounds in HD you don't need 30 rounds, you need practice.

Yea shooting uphill with a bipod your looking at a min of 9" and prob more depending on the angle. I mean hell with a 9" bipod my stock can touch the ground and the magazine doesnt

  22. Not to mention, a proper (or even useful) shooting position is basically impossible in that case. The best course of action would be to shoot from another position.

depends on bipod, with a short bipod, which puts you closer to the ground or bench, you've got no room to shoot upward at all.
