Received my signed contract from Rudy Project along with my new shooting glasses this afternoon.

First impressions, these things feel as light as a feather, you can hardly feel them on your face. And they fit my head well. And I've got a big dome. First thing I do of course, is see how the red dot on my open gun does with the Racing Red lenses. I grab my SVI out of the safe and go to my back yard and start airgunning. (Sunny in the NW today)

I wasn't sure how the Racing Red lenses would cooperate with my CMore red dot. They actually make the red dot "pop" out. I had my 1911 with the red Fiber Optic front sight, same deal. Front sight posts is nice and bright. These should contrast well against brown, I'm stoked. The Racing Reds look GREAT outside, everything is nice and vivid with just enough shade so my eye's aren't squinting in the sun. The frames hugged my face well and even with some movement, they felt like they were glued to my face. Loose fitting glasses are a major distraction. Especially when they start bobbing up and down on the bridge of your nose.

I'll be putting them through the gauntlet this Sunday. This will be my last club match until I shoot the Space City Challenge next week in the Texas sun.

I didn't either at first. Our USPSA section coordinator has a set and was talking about his "Rudy's" when we were gearing up one day, and I thought it was weird that he had a name for his shooting glasses.

Good lenses make a difference in shooting. Less eye strain and it makes the targets pop. Plus lets be honest you got to look good for the video.

    word

The turning point in my shooting came in the realization of something one of our shooting greats, Brian Enos said in one of his books. He talks about "seeing what you need to see" in the target, and calling your shots.

I consider my vision my #1 asset in regards to rapid fire and dynamic shooting. Being able to snap my eye's to my next target, see that port, corner, barrel, etc. You can only go as fast as your vision allows, but not everyone can see what they need to see. Sounds simple rite? Something the video camera doesn't show in my videos, are the high beams that are my eye's and the amount of focus on my targets. I literally have a half second on my targets before I transition to another focal point. I need to know I am able to view to the best of my physical ability and don't need hardware holding that back.

I've always said, I could live without my hearing, but my vision is something I could not live without. Some people spend money on much more frivolous things. It may seem like some cash to spend, but to me this is money well spent.

yes, they are. I made note of that at beginning of my post regarding receipt of my signed contract. I'm just sharing my first impressions of them. Like I do with most of my gear I get.
