You can add any excersise you want and make up the workouts in advance then add the sets as you do them. Has a little rest timer too that you can start when youre done with a lift and it chimes over your music.

I use iFitness, but that one looks cool too. I may try it and see which one works better.

I'm going to be getting a refurbished first gen iTouch here in a little bit, do you guys use one of the arm bands or a belt clip or what whenever you're at the gyym?

A lot of the armband reviews I'm reading talk about how it only fits on anorexic girls apparently. Or is there another way to remedy this?

the armband only fits smaller people imo, anyone with a decent size bicep should have a bigger problem getting away with it.

I have gym for home so I just set it down on something while I'm working out.

I did put my iPhone in an armband they sell at Target, the clear plastic part of the armband made the touchscreen nearly unusable. FYI

I have an armband but I cant use it on arm days because its too tight, so i just put it in a pocket. Also you can still control the screen ok with the armband I have.

    Agreed.

Also, every electronic gadget Ive ever brought to the gym ends up broken or in really poor shape. I love my Iphone too much for that.

So after using iFitness for a couple of months I saw this thread and decided to check out Gym Buddy. I've used it for about a week so far and I'm going to give the nod to GB over iFitness, but just barely, they're both really good for logging and tracking your workouts. Definitely superior to paper/ pen, it's neater(my handwriting sucks ass when I'm lifting), you don't need to carry a notebook and pen everywhere, and they both show graphs of your progress which is pretty cool.

iFitness has way more exercises already added when you buy it, and they also are illustrated. This is better for begginers and novices obviously, as anyone who has been lifting for a while will probably know how to do most exercises and won't need the visuals. It does save a few seconds when adding exercises to your workouts, but it's not a huge issue that GB doesn't have as many exercises, you just need to add them manually.

I think iFitness's layout overall is a little cleaner/ less cluttered. GB seems to have more text and symbols everywhere, but you get used to it.

The 2 main reasons I now like GB over iFitness are the timers GB has that help you time your rest in between sets (they are all customizable, and definitely help to keep you moving while working out), and GB displays all the info from your last workout on the same screen where you log in your new workout. So instead of jumping back and forth a couple of pages like you do with iFitness it's all right there at the bottom of the screen, you see all your sets, reps, weights, etc.

If you have an iPhone or Touch this should be a no-brainer, the app is only a few bucks.

I like it, just wish that it always responded when you pressed a button, it seems a little slow every once in a while....

I guess those are random screenshots and not from your phone...nobody else noticed the 225x7 bench press for a 120lb female? or the 279lb 1RM for said 120lb girl?
