And no more warranty as of 60 days ago. Powerbook G4. How much is it to get one of these repaired?

input, or output? If you're out of warrenty, it could be pricy, but fortunatly for you I think the last PB G4s had those jacks and such on a small cicuit board that was connect to the main board via wire. If not the case, the jack itself is a standard SM audio jack, that can be replaced if you are handy with a small soldering iron.

output. i wouldn't even know where to begin with a soldering iron. I bought speakers, only one and the sub played, exchanged them, some problem again. So, i connected headphones, played out of only one side...fuuuuuck.

you've obviously checked the balance in the control panel....

im not sure about the pbg4 but on some macs the ports are on a seperate board to the mainboard, connected by a cable. this makes replacement cheaper.

Soldering is hard. Don't go that route.

    :embd:

I checked all over iTunes for some balance control. Never occurred to me to check the control panel. Thanks from a humbled dumbass. :wiggle:

Yeah, every now and then mine will be completely over to the left if I don't do anything about it. Most of the time I'm using an external sound card though, so it's not a problem.
