Deadlifted 305 today. I think fresh I could do a bit more but I did a 5x5 right before that. I've been deadlifting 1 or 2 times a week for the last 2 months.

Thats prolly a pretty shitty compared to most of you guys but I'm pretty happy with it since my back has always been really weak. I wanna try and get up in the 330-40 range before the end of summer.

    6'1, 168 pounds.

Yeah.. that's a lot of warmups.

You'd be able to get more with a shorter build-up

Should I just be doing 265 for each 5x5 after a 1 set warmup? I like doing the slow buildup cause I feel like it reduces my chances of pulling something. Thats put me out of commission several times for a month at a time and its something I really worry about. Each week I try to start and end with 10 pounds more than I did last time.

i'm no expert but i'd do something like:

    135x5
    185x5
    225x3
    275x3
    315x3
and do singles for the rest until you cant go anymore.

i dont max so i'm not exactly sure how to warmup for it, it just looks like you have alot of uneccesary warmups in there.

Good job. When I started deadlifting I set my first PR at 225 lbs, but that was because I didn't dare lift heavy until I knew how to do the excercise. So in a month I increased that to 330 lbs(still not max), and now I'm at 385.

So you'll most likely increase quickly as long as you just continue :bigthumb:
