broadcasting ethernet internet, over wireless card

    i have the internet comming in from the wall into my computer, can i use this computer's wireless card to broadcast the internet to another wireless card in a different computer?

    you could probably establish an ad hoc network between the two and then enable internet connection sharing. unfortunatley I'm not very familiar with ad hoc networking. I think you'd need to set the 2nd computers IP manually. consult the internets.

    adhoc networks suck. Go spend $40 on a wifi router and be done with it.

    Routers are so affordable today that you'd set it up without headaches in no time flat. I'd definetly spend cash on a router over trying to configure internet sharing, might run into some problems.

    My university can find a wireless router easy.

    no they cant. Turn SSSID_broadcast off, enable WPA, enable mac filtering. done. They arn't gonna find it unless they know EXACTLY what to look for... which they dont.

    my company provides a local college with connectivity and that was our biggest problem, one person would pay for it then they would share it out... if the person knew what they were doing, we could never catch them.
