I just moved into a new apt and dont plan on getting a phone line, i will howver have cable.

What i'm wondering is will i be able to use my multi-function machine (MP390) as a fax machine with just a cable line. I'm sure i can scan my documents in and use a fax software to send them. How about recieving?

Which software is the best for my situtation?

    thanks in advance

There are online services designed to do this if you do receive a lot of faxes for like 10 bucks a month. But for most things now, I get people to PDF it to me for signatures.

We use EFax at our office though we also have a multi-function machine, primarily to cut down on the spam faxes we get. It also lets us file everything to keep records. We send the traditional way though but scanning would work as well.
