For some reason every time my car shifts gears at above 3000 rpm the transmission sounds like it is going to jump out through my roof. Do you think I broke a tranny mount?

Well, it would help if you listed what you drive....

Do you hear anything at idle?
    Any vibration?

Is it when you shift or when you reengage the clutch?

The car is a 92 firebird and it is an automatic. At idle it does vibrate a good bit. I heard this happens a good bit on these cars.

probably the tranny mount. Could just remove it to see if there are any tears. They are fairly easy to replace on fbodys.

So how much do you think it will cost to fix?

parts or to have someone fix it? The tranny mount alone is only like $40 for an aftermarket one from energy suspension. To have a shop do it will probably be $150-200.

I'll prolly have a shop do it unless my dad and I feel we can do it after looking at it.

Its quite easy actually. Just 4 bolts for the transmission support, one bolt holding the mount to the crossmember, and 2 holding the mount to the tranny.

Yeah, trans mounts on RWD are pretty basic and easy.
    Save yourself the $$.

I am taking it to a friends house today and we are going to look at it and see if that is the problem.
