I wish I liked the movie more then I did. The highschool setting would bug me now and then. Worth a watch though.

I was very disappointed. It really started well, but just fell apart (at least to me). Still a good watch, but not nearly as good as I had hoped.

Yeah the fact a lot of the indie-is-god fans are hyping it to the best movie in years and all the other jazz doesn't help since going into the movie with high expectations will typically leave dissapointment but going in knowing nothing will typically how much you like a good movie. Someone has to promote the shit of these films though so good for them regardless.

The movie is a decent watch and Johnson definetly shows some talent and I was surprised how well Gordon-Levitt has graduated from Third Rock (still need to see Mysterious Skin) and I love the fact someone actually made a noir film but the setting took me out now and then which was really a shame. I understand why people are big fans if they can allow themselves to not get brought out of the film by that but I think it's pretty definetly difficult.

I found Brick to be a little slow, but I loved different scenes and the dialogue.

Worth watching if you like twisted Noir.

Loved that movie, and I don't normally like Noir.

I liked the high school setting because it was completely serious and not teeny at all.

if you liked Brick you should watch Veronica Mars

not as dark, a sort of wittier take on teen noir, also done supremely well

i bought it on my screenwriting teacher's recommendation and really enjoyed it. had no idea it was the 3rd rock from the sun kid. i thought it was someone related to heath ledger. looks like him in a lot of the scenes.

great movie though. was the pin in the background at the party? :eek3: i need to go watch that again.
