Work out on an empty stomach or use waxy maize and bcaa's while you train.

I dont know what maize/bcaa are. Links?

sc1twntrbo: Yeah i'm seriously, they say normally wait an hour and half to 2 hours. I figure a protien shake is liquid so it should be faster.

Thats why i'm asking i dont know for sure.

I'm doing a heavy bag routine with knees and kicks.

Its pretty high pace with minimal stopping, only to switch sides.
I'd say it is very comparable to sprinting.

that will do it I run after. The most active thing I'll do when I start are snatches but it takes a while to warm up

heres my pro tip advice for skinnies, twinks, skinnyfats, new to the bulking game

your first meal of the day should NOT be a shake but it should be solid food.... solid food + shake is ok too though but in my amateur opinion you want that solid food in the morning...

    YMMV

If thats the case I would wait about an hour and see what happens. If you puke wait 15 more minutes and repeat until you dont puke or get in better shape.

Any specific reason? I normally do eat a solid meal. But i came home late last night, and i wont have a chance to work out tonight. Working until 930 and then going to watch norm macdonald, I'll be home around 1-2am.

BRB, Lets see if i puke.

  14. Yeah a breakfast of eggs, oatmeal, milk, and a glass of OJ is so much better for you than a breakfast of milk, a banana, oats, and whey blended up

i try and include 2-4 eggs in every breakfast, and 2-4 peices of toast. i wouldnt last an hour on just a shake, but ill gladly include a shake with my breakfast

eating a good large solid food meal always seems to ramp up my hunger and energy for the rest of the day. I tried doing shakes in the morning and I didnt feel as good, energized, and strong. Could be in my head, sure. Also, shoving that solid food in there will help stretch out your stomatch and get you used to putting a lot of food down.. good for bulking imo.

thats my 2 cents. I recommend solid meal, then shake, then solid, then shake etc. rinse and repeat

  17. There is no reason. If anything, and you want to get scientific and care about every mundane meaningless detail, a shake might be better for you if you're trying to gain weight because of the thermogenic effect of food.

ive been gaining good on eating 4 pieces of toast covered in jam and peanut butter and 50g of egg whites straight out of the carton. gets my day started right, every fucking time.

  20. Then that's different. You can't compare a protein shake with nothing else in it to solid and balanced meal. But a balanced shake isn't going to be that much different than a solid meal if you're doing it like once or twice a day.

the thread title specifically says "breakfast PROTEIN SHAKE"

I am answering based on the thread. I also argued that eating increased amounts of solid food is an effective way to stretch your stomach and get used to the sensation and uncomfortableness of putting down 500-1000+ calories in one sitting. Whey shakes sometimes destroy my hunger as well versus eating eggs and steak does not necessarilly do that.

lately ive been doing omlettes, 2 wholes + 100ml whites from the carton, makes enough for two toast sandwhiches each with 2 peices of toast, with some margarine. sweet chilli sauce for flavour. few glasses of milk, or a shake if im still hungry. awesome start to the day to eat big for breaky

I care about the scientific mundane facts.

So i didnt puke, after i had 2 chicken grilled wraps (whole wheat) + lettuce tomatoes + bbq sauce.
