So My service plan is about to expire and I need my laptop to go bad before then so I can get a new one. Anyone have experience with this. It cannot be detectable so as not to void my warranty, but I still need it to break 2 more times before I get a new one or 1 time if it breaks in a way that is more costly to repair then replace.

I have but mainly during doing a DFT. I would be pereferable if it wasnt hard drive related since all the other times its been in was due to hard drive failure.

You might also want to try and send some stepped up voltage in to it, (IE the wrong power pack). The fan trick would be the hardest to detect though. good luck

I don't believe you people. My laptop is a Gateway Solo 2500 from 1999. You bitches need to learn how to run an efficient computer.

(yes, it runs XP. In GUI mode, not command-line mode.)

Will it fit in the microwave? A couple of 1 or 2 second pulses should do it (TAKE THE BATTERY OUT!!!!!*) That's how I used to "upgrade" my cell phones under my old provider. "Um, yea, the phone was struck by lightning..."

Well I figure that if you're going to spend the cash to buy an extended warranty, might as well get some use out of it.:bigthumb:

You forgot to indemnify yourself against being an accessory to fraud.

It's fraud if he breaks it on purpose and says it happened on its own.

short out a contact while it is running, it will fry it, and not look like it was tampered with.
