    a friend of mine has pointed me towards a bread called "burgen" which is a whole grain bread with soy and linseed in it.....its got 7g of protein per slice.....

    any opinions on this.....i am eating it now and it tastes great..i have a full tin of tuna between two slices

    just to be clear my mate doesnt train or anything but was told about this by his gp as he has some reason to eat soy....i think its lactose intolerance

    i'd rather eat soy than junk food. You can go ahead and say soy is bad, but go ahead and drink a case of beer on the weekend and put down a bag of doritos watching a movie.

    Um.. I don't eat soy and I don't eat junk food. Shit I probably only drink one beer a week.

    Any more words of wisdom you can cram your foot into?

    Also, I'm not saying soy is good or bad, just better than so many other things you can eat.

    we're not talking about drugs, we're talking about eating food. Diet is a lifestyle, we need to find ways to make it healthy, liveable, and manageable with nice variety to help us accomplish our goals whether you're BBing, PLing, or just trying to be healthy.

    I'm pretty sure Baker's Inn bread has 8g of protein per slice, but it's 100 cals a slice

    But for real, I have been a vegetarian for 10 years. (Don't try to convince me to eat meat. Not going to happen, I just do not like it.)

    I have been reading about soy alot lately, considering I eat a ton of tofu, luna bars, soy milk, etc. I cannot seem to make sense of the tons of info. good/bad, etc.

    any info?

    I'm not a Vegan.. And I am not a veg for animal reasons, so I am not super ridiculous. I eat egg whites all of the time and use skim milk on stuff. Lately I have cut out the soy milk for skim milk.

    I do eat alot of beans, nuts, etc... but I also eat alot of tofu, tempeh and soy stuff.

    Well what I would say and I'm preaching to the choir here I'm sure: but just make sure you're completing those proteins.

    IE: pair up incomplete proteins to make complete ones. PB and wheat bread for instance. Using regular milk instead of soy milk. If you've been at it for so long I'm sure you know all this already though.

    Yea, I am pretty good about it now. I have always eaten pretty healthy, but have been working out this past year... (never had to before, but now that I am an old hag, its not so easy.)
    so now I am trying to make my eating habits even better. I have found I only eat about 1,100-1,200 calories at best though. I just don't eat alot.
    I have been trying to add in more slowly...

    but I am limited due to the vegetarian thing....
