I was at the range yesterday trying out some guns and on the SIG P220, which is the gun I am looking to purchase, the empty shell casing kept flying directly backward and hitting me. One even landed in my hair and someone laughed at me while I frantically pushed it off

Did this have something to do with it being a range gun that is likely never cleaned? I've never had this problem before... I hope it is not endemic to the gun....

I think it may have something to do with your grip, I get pelted every once in a while with my P220 though :dunno:

Edit: 993kgt beat me to it.

I suspected that but I made sure to grip it properly and I shot two other pistols in the same day and didn't have that problem at all :dunno:

It's entirely possible that given it's a range gun the extractor is gum'd up with residue. Sounds like a weak or mistuned/installed extractor if anything.

dead serious, I put it on consignment because i hated that gun, i go down to gunshop and its gone, i ask when it sold and they're like, yeah "young joc" bought it, and 10 other guns

4 weeks later he's arrested at an airport trying to pass through TSA with a "large caliber handgun"

posts I made about it at the time:

Here they are, freaking out and saying how dangerous he is for having these firearms, yet just about every gun they have on display is off safe?

Im sorry, I just find that pretty :hsugh:

Just be glad it didn't land between your eyelid and shooting glasses. After that I started wearing a baseball cap at the range.

Have had that happen a few times.

When I was shooting some blazer through my XD once a chip of the casing flew off and went over the top of my glasses and landed right under my eyeball, I started yelling and swearing and my buddy was like "what the fuck are you doing dude?" I told him, and he laughed at me.

    It was pretty funny.
