Whats the deal with MA Audio, Hifonics, Lightning Audio, Phoenix Gold? I heard that Lightning Audio is made by Rockford Fosgate. Are the rest of these made by somebody else?

i've met people that love their MA. Hifonics i think is still made by Maxxsonics. Not the best ever, but still strong IIRC. Lightning was introduced as a cheaper line by RF. The line-up was very strong, don't know about now. I'd stay away from the bolt line and the Fast and Furious stuff. Basically the "promo" stuff. If you can find the basic lightning line (storm & strike), it's pretty much the same as RF, but rebadged. link: http://www.lightningaudio.com/2004/home/index.asp the strike line looks to be the most diverse.

edit: and PG has for the most part been a quality product. Who remembers the Route 66, Frankampnstein, and Son of Frank? Oh and don't forget the.............wait, the DaVinci and Tarantula was Soundstream. n/m

I think I'm gonna try the MA Audio. I found one that is stable at 1 ohm and puts out 1000W RMS. Thanks for the help.

If you say so. I'd personally prefer the PG, then Lightning out of those choices. Do you have to have 1 ohm stable? have you already got subs?

now you say something!! lol, Ya I have a pair of 10" alpine type r's, they are 4 ohm dvc's. So I can only run them at either 4 ohms or 1 ohm. They are 500W RMS, 1500W Max.

ya but you'd probably want more that what I paid for that MA Audio amp. And I saw some of those rf amps for for $350+

And I'm not too concerned with my regular speakers, my head unit does a pretty good job of pushing those for now
