Any one ever use bowling pins as targets?

My brother got a whole box of em from his friend at the bowling alley and i'm thinking the 7mag would do a good job on one.

The club I'm a member of shoots bowling pin rimfire/centerfire pistol matches once a month May-November.

Honestly, anything like 7mm will probably go right through it without knocking it over most of the time.

    Great for pistols though.

there are pistol competitions based on bowling pins, but have slowly been overcome with steel targets with electronic resets to prevent having to clear the range between shooters.

friends of mine and i used to get free pins from the local bowling alley, head out to the woods, and make them jump with our pistols.

I have like 20 of them in my attic... how many times can you shoot them with a 9mm before they're no longer usable?

i've shot at one for a whole day with a 45 and it broke the top off... so i continued to shoot the base.

probably 250 rounds fired, some missed of course ;)

the ones we have at my club are really tough. regular 9mm usually wont fully pass through the body of the pin, and as a result the pins get VERY heavy. also fun for shotgun slugs.
