they would be nice if they went up to a weight that would be useable for something other than curls and raises.

ya not enough weight and they are bulky and cheezy. I have played with them at the store. I can't see them lasting as long. If you want weights look in craiglist for used sets. Much cheaper IMHO

I saw a set at Dick's too and it was just plastic pieces that you lock and unlock and only go to 50lbs. :ugh:

Saw some of thoes at a sporting good store and had fun playing with them for a minute or two (neat how they work). But they are bulky, unbalanced, and highly impractical and I would be willing to bet they would break after some mild use.

Do they feel light to anyone else? I've got 2 apartment gyms I work out with dumbells that go up to 50s, and I usually curl the 30s to warm up and the 35s for sets. I clicked these up to 35 and they felt like feathers. :dunno:

EDIT: Good lord, if they're 350 like that, how much are they normally?

If you were serious about getting dumbbells all you need is some olympic dumbbell handles and a bunch of 10lb and 5lb plates.

That ridiculous stand is another $150 one of my buddies works at Sports Authority and told me ppl are bringin em back right and left. Those gears get jammed up and dont work anymore after about a month of use. Just buy some of the spin collared dumbell bars and some decent sized standard plates for less than half that price the bars themselves are $17+ the price of weight.
