Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumb bells?

    Anyone have em? Worth the money? $300 seems like a lot but if they're worth it i'll probably do it :cool:

    I wanna start p90x but don't have a weight set

    iirc they were going for $50 at sears a while back. it was on sd, local sears didnt have em :mad:

    i heard the gears get all jacked up and fail. if you're looking for adjustables look into powerblock or ironmasters

    Waste of money. You'd be better witht e Powerblock if you have to have an adjustable dumbell.

    Yeah get a good set of adjustables. I've got dumbells layin all over the floor at my place which gets annoying. Then again cast iron isn't going to break.

    not very many people have an option of $10 a month for a gym. my golds is $17 per month

    I can get the selecttechs for 399 w/ a bowflex free stand and free shipping from bowflex.com, I might do it...seems like a good deal :dunno:

    Here's what I'm going to do after looking at the ridiculous prices of those.

    Buy 2-3 pairs of these:

    Preload with whatever weights you desire for example:
    A pair with 10 pounds on each side, pair with 30 pounds on each side, and a pair with 50 pounds on each side.

    I don't care if the smaller or bigger plate is on the inside or outside.
    But now it takes a couple seconds to spin off the stop, and throw in your desired weight without having to fuck around too much and not drop the serious $ for that extra 10 second convenience.

    Just a thought, price it out at your local store and see if it works for you.
