OpenOffice 1.1. It can export directly to a PDF file, and the results are incredibly good
i need to install that when i get home
Also the much quicker start-up time on Windows machine compared to Word.
My dad just installed it on OSX, and it runs pretty well, even though it's not native (runs in an X11 environment within OSX).
After Office 2003, I don't see how an open source project could be better than this. InfoPath and OneNote just plain rock. Not to mention the core of Word, Outlook and Excel.
True, but it's painfully slow using the plugin, or the Adobe distiller for that matter. In OpenOffice, it's just as fast as saving it in a native document format.
And like I said, the results are amazing, fonts are right on, page orientations are correct, everything looks exactly as its supposed to.
