I have a 2001 Wolfsburg Jetta, 5spd and I've just recently started getting serious about minor upgrades. I can hear a slight shutter of the stock divertor valve, but I would like to install an aftermarket BOV. Do I have to buy an adapter kit? Who sells them?? What valves work with my car??

Also, if they are/what are any free/cheap mods that you can do to get just a little more out of the stock 1.8t? Are they any hoses that can be crimped to increase boost?? Anyway to make the stock divertor valve louder???

    Thanks

I don't believe one is made for the 1.8T (especially not the TDI). But you can get a bypass valve with a decent CAI system that'll give you an almost equivalent sound. I'd do it simply to smoothen out the powerband.

As for easy upgrades for a 1.8T - just chip it.

Well i've seen GReddy type-s's used on the 1.8t motors, so it can be done, i am just asking where to find the adaptor kit, and which one I would need.

I was just using the boost increase mod as an example. I know on certain cars you can crimp certain hoses and thus increase your boost.

I am asking about any free mods??

go fast bits makes this cool hybrid blow off valve, where you can adjust how loud it is by being able to change how much air comes out.

Cheap mods to turbos usually aren't safe for the turbo, and/or won't yield much benefit. If you're going to mod it, mod it right and chip it or better.
