being somewhat of the anti-suv person that I am (can't stand soccer mom driving hummers that take up the entire road), I needed something bigger than my Integra which I sold. My 330i has a system, so trunk space is that of a Z.

So, I compromized, and picked out the least SUV out of all the SUVs.

FX35....The thing rocks...handles damn good for what it is, luxurious inside, and I got a hell of deal. Pretty good Bose system, 20s stock!!

Off-road capability is minimal, but hell, I live in a city..it'll never see a dirt road anyway. I just see this basically as an oversized cruiser.

The IPOD hooks up real easily to the REAR AV output...nice digital connections.

20s are nice, but who knows....22s may be in the future.

They really should reclassify SUV's. The Lexus RX330, The FX45, the Cayene, etc... are not SUV's in a true sense.

Ruggedness, off-road worthyness should be a measure of an SUV, not how much leather and gadgets you can cram into it. SUV's are built from truck frames, and do not share a chasis from an Altima or Camry.

With 20's, and the low profile, low ground clearance of some of the newere "SUV's", they really are just "tall station wagons" (TSW)

But seriously though, the FX is an awesome "car" (not a truck). Just listening to that thing drive down the street, gives me chills. Nissan/Infinit really did a nice job with the design of that "TSW".

That's not an SUV, it's an AWD G35 station wagon.

    Still very nice though.

The FX35 and it's Nissan mate, the Murano, are actually based on the 350Z platform. That's why they handle so well. They also look pretty badass. :bigthumb:

Don't forget though, my FX is RWD while some muranos are FWD. I'm surprised by how well the FX takes turns.

One thing i've found out that, my FX offers more space than a sedan and performs like one, but has none of the cargo capacity or towing capacity found in a regular SUV (which I don't need anyways).

Once people start lowering it, it'll really take on characteristics of a station wagon.

SUV lovers will despise my car. Sedan lovers are more open to it. Infiniti had me at the pimp interior though :)

No they aren't. The FX35 is based on the FM platfrom that is shared with the Z. The Murano is based on the Altima.

They have trucklike fuel consumption, and it doesn't need to be lowered to be a station wagon.
