I went out and bought my first scooter today.. its a two stroke, 49cc Baccio Runner 50 ( http://baccio.com/baccio_runner.htm) $733.95 after tax. I've only had a few hours to ride it today, but damn.. these things are FUN :bigthumb:

Anyone have any experience working on two stroke engines that they could pass along? Eventually I hope to be able to take this thing apart and rebuild it, for repair/modifying purposes

I paid 20 bux more, and got myself a 92 Suzuki Bandit.
Scooters are fun, but motorcycles kick ass.

I don't have to worry about insurance, new license, taking classes, and all that good stuff though... I just get to zip around and be obnoxious :bigthumb:

Speedo goes up to 45, but i've never taken it over 35...fast enough for what I want though :) I was even finding myself tailgating cars in my neighborhood cause they weren't going as fast... gotta be careful :hs:

Here, I'll edit it for you, if you want to do stuff legally. At least in my state you do.

In maryland, you only need a regular drivers license to drive a <50cc scooter, and no such insurance is required.. its basically a bike

Scooter rentals are a big deal where I live, so all the tourists come down and rent them.. its amazing none have died considering how HORRIBLE the drivers are.

I know where I am, unless you are skilled, you're gonna get killed, esp. on a power-less scooter

The drivers here in Austin don't pay attention to motorcycles, let alone 49cc scooters. If someone's coming at you, those things are a tad slow for moving fast(I also own one, so I do know)

Did it happen to have a rear drum brake? Mine is a bit sqeaky, so I was going to take it apart and check the pads... but.. I have a feeling it'd be a bad idea going at it if I've never done it before lol

I've got a Piaggio BV200 scooter (200cc, 21 HP), and it's up for sale, I need something bigger. This one can do freeways fine (55-65), but on the highways (usually 70 plus) it's not quite enough. Around town it's great, but I couldn't imagine losing 20 hp and then mixing it up with traffic. Sure, I had to get my motorcycle endorsement, but that was easy, and insurance is only $10/mo, big whoop.

If you don't get that joke, you should not be talking about motorcycles.
