This stuff is great. I fucking HATE eggs.. the smell of cooking eggs makes me want to puke. Yet I can stomach these just fine.

These are liquid egg whites but they're heat treated to neutralise avidin and salmonella so you can chug them straight from the bottle. The amazing thing is that they're totally tasteless. I've mixed them with orange juice and milk and you don't even notice they're there.

Well worth a go if you want the benefit of egg protein without the hassle of cooking them.. or if you hate eggs

is there any benefit to cooking eggs vs drinking them. do they digest faster?

throw them in your shake man....it makes them kinda slimy, but it's pretty tasteless and adds a good amount of quality protein

    Cost £25 for 6 litres

Not many places in the UK sell them though.. might be cheaper in the USA

It's important to note that these egg whites are LIQUID, not raw. Strictly not cooked either though. Raw eggs contain avidin which blocks your body from absorbing biotin. Lots of raw eggs will cause severe biotin deficiency. Also, it's rumoured, but as far as I know not proven, that raw eggs aren't absorbed as well as cooked.

But the liquid egg whites I'm talking about are heat treated so the absorption, avidin etc is all taken care of. They're just liquid so you can drink them rather than have to eat them.

    They shouldn't smell dude!

I'll give that a go. I didn't have my blender today to make a proper shake so i just poured some liquid egg white into a glass of milk and drank it.. couldn't even tell they were there.

The only time I bought them I wasn't impressed. I'm sure they can be had for cheaper in other places but if you're comparing where I buy the rest of my groceries it was a rip off.

They were like $3.50 for 8 eggs worth. MUCH cheaper to buy normal eggs and separate them yourself.

But now I'm buying powdered egg whites. Costs me about $90 for the equivalent of ~1300 egg whites.

I got them from here: http://www.eggnation.co.uk/

Works out as about 14 pence per egg which isn't too bad IMO :dunno:

    See 2 posts up:
    http://www.eggnation.co.uk/

You can also get them at:
    www.myprotein.co.uk
but I thought the shipping was pretty expensive, plus I will only buy and eat free range poultry and the myprotein stuff is caged chickens

Well I already get my protein powder from there, might just dump some on the next order. Is there any nutrition information on the eggnation website? How much protein for say 100ml?

I think you'll find it pretty much standard.. one egg white is going to be largely similar to the next.

Both have 33 egg whites per 1 litre
3g protein per egg white so about 100g in 1 litre - zero fat, zero carbs

edit: and yup, I buy stuff from myprotein too but when I was looking at ordering just some liquid egg whites, the postage cost was too much compared to the other place

i used to drink those little egg white packages from cotscos every morning (`50g protein per package) but they gave me the worst gas in the world. My gf couldn't take it anymore and made me stop :o
